I’m Ella Anchor. In my normal daily life, I lead a team of web developers, a path I’ve been walking for the last few years after a long string of different jobs. But behind the screens and the code, there has always been the music.

My sound is rooted in Pop Rock, though it usually lives somewhere between high-energy synths and the simplicity of a piano. I write about the things we’ve all gone through: the shifts, the struggles, and the moments that stick with us. My songs are essentially a reflection of those experiences.

I’ve always been driven by a “built, not bought” mentality. I built this site, I designed the art, and I’ve spent the last few years learning to produce, record, and master my own tracks. Coming from a technical background, I enjoy the challenge of the process. I’m not interested in being “ready” or perfect; I’m interested in growing.

Everything here is a work in progress. I’m just glad you’re here to see where it goes.

    When everything started

Music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. It started with the records my father brought home and the sound of my older sister practicing classical piano. By the time I was five, my mother had me in my own lessons, laying the foundation for everything I’d eventually create.

    Musical influences

Around age 12, I started diving into Linkin Park, Avril Lavigne, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and t.A.T.u. I used to translate their songs into Portuguese to understand the lyrics and teach myself English. At 14, after moving to a new city, I found new influences like Evanescence, Good Charlotte, and Yellowcard, and I started writing my first lyrics. I still remember going to my first rock festival at 16 to see Fall Out Boy and Yellowcard play.

    Life in Japan

In 2009, I moved to Japan for work. It was a tough transition leaving my friends behind, but it became a huge part of my musical growth. I used to record covers for fun with my neighbors, and I finally got to see Linkin Park and Evanescence live. Most importantly, I went back to studying piano, and the struggles of living there inspired me to write my very first original songs.

    United States adventure

I returned to Brazil in 2014, but by 2016, I was off on a two-year exchange program in the United States. That time was a total immersion for me. I studied music production, songwriting, and the music business. I even got to attend the Berklee Onsite events for two years in a row, joining workshops and lectures that changed how I saw the technical side of music. I also got to go to concerts for many people who inspire me.

    Ella now

Now, back in Brazil, I spend my spare time deep in the musical world I’ve built. I created this special place to share my songs with anyone who wants to listen. My goal is to connect with people, hoping they can find the same kind of happiness in music that I’ve found throughout my life.
